Ketil Østrem
Senior Advisor — Energy & International Business Development

With over 40 years of international experience across four continents, Ketil has built a career track record few can match in African energy markets. Born in Norway and raised in Nairobi, Kenya (1970–1981), he is fluent in Swahili and deeply embedded in East African governmental, utility, and diplomatic circles.

As Area Sales Director at Jacobsen Elektro AS for 13 years, he secured and delivered four major government power plant contracts in Tanzania and Sierra Leone totalling over USD 550 million — including two contracts awarded without competitive tender, reflecting the exceptional trust built over a decade on the ground in Dar es Salaam.

His earlier career spans air cargo operations at SAS and Swissair (1982–1990), ship chartering and brokering at Lind-Stoneship AS where he grew company turnover from NOK 30M to NOK 130M, managing director roles in shipping and car parts, and senior equipment finance at DnB NOR Finans AS where he consistently exceeded sales targets by significant margins.
